More Than 27,000 AMD Opteron Processor-Based Sun Ultra 20 Workstations to Help Improve Education in Mexican Fifth- and Sixth-Grade ClassroomsFebruary 28, 2006 Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: SUNW) announced today that it will deliver more than 27,000 AMD Opteron processor-based Sun Ultra 20 Workstations and five years of Sun services as part of a $400 million contract to help bridge the digital divide in Mexican education. The agreement, the largest education deal for Sun in Latin America to date, is a component of the Mexican Ministry of Education's national Enciclomedia project, which aims to offer computer technology to fifth- and six-grade classrooms in Mexico's national public school system.
